Entering Bou Reg Reg Harbour with the swell behind us was quite an experience. The marina had sent a guide boat to lead us in. We would be stuck in Rabat for almost two weeks because of severe weather.

Essaouira was a step back into history. Traditional dhows built right on the waters edge with hand tools, stone buildings showing the passage of time lining the narrow streets, men dressed in dishdasha, and not in some Disneyesque attempt to impress tourists, made the city enchanting. We were hoping to spend a few days here, but when we realized strong winds approaching had to beat a hasty departure. Instead of checking out this charming city we rushed out of the harbor to get to Agadir sooner than later.
