Cruising in French Polynesia
After spending a few days at Taina Marina anchorage in Tahiti, we joined the Tahiti-Moorea Sailing Rendezvous and sailed to Opunohu Bay on Moorea Island. We snorkeled the reef today. It might be time to unpack our bikes and bike the Island tomorrow.
We are in PARADISE
DENIZE II is in the Marquesas, French Polynesia

The Countdown Begins....
Our estimated departure time is May 24, Sunday. Yayyyyy, only 10 days to complete provisioning, get the boat ready, tidy up, get rid of the car, and the list goes on and on….
So much to do and so little time…
Finally back on DENIZE II...
We are finally back on Denize II. We were in Seattle since mid-February and drove back to Chula Vista Marina in San Diego. Our good friend Erden Eruç, an accomplished adventurer and ocean rower, joined us. Erden will be sailing with us on our next journey.
Today we started preparing the boat for our trip. As Banu tried to tidy up the boat, Peter started a new project, the installation of a second autopilot. We’ll post details of the project tomorrow. But first, why do we need a second autopilot?
Denize II is in Chula Vista Marina in San Diego Bay, waiting for Banu and Peter to return from Seattle to sail on to the South Pacific.
We arrived in San Diego on October 2019 after a pleasant cruise from San Francisco. We are planning on heading towards the South Pacific soon.
